America's core values are much different today than they were in the past. Times have changed, and therefore so have people's values. Today, some American values include individualism, freedom, and education. As humans, people like to express themselves. People do this in different ways, whether it be through the way they dress or their art or their music. People in the United States are privileged with the right of individualism, the right to be themselves. In other countries, people aren't always allowed to dress the way they want or say what is on their mind. They are sometimes just seen as another cookie cutter-type copy of who they are "supposed" to be. In America, people take every opportunity available to express themselves and be who they want to be.
Another core American value is freedom. People in the U.S. are extremely lucky to have as much freedom as they do. People in other countries do not have the ability to choose their government leader like Americans do. They do not have the ability to say and do what they want, whenever they want. This is not to say that people in the United States are completely unrestricted, but they certainly have a lot more freedom than people in most other countries.
The final value is education. People from the United States pride themselves in what education they received and what school or schools they attended. Through the years, Americans have prided themselves more and more in education. In former times, one could get a job in America having only a high school diploma. Nowadays, most people will not consider you for a job unless you have a college degree. Furthermore, many people come to the United States from around the world to study in American schools because they acknowledge how important education is to us. This is why education is the final core value in the United States.
